kendo mouseguard

This is one of those pieces I keep meaning to post and then losing in my chronic series of computer crashes and disasters.

Actual Mouseguard.

Tunjukkan Jalan, inside pages

This book has finally gone to print. I took these pictures last night lit by my glarey desk lamp, so sorry about the photo quality.

Book Cover--Souw Tjin & Thio Gie

Again, the random back cover text is just to give an idea of how things look, since I didn't have the actual blurb.

Maha Raja Gila--The Crazy King

Front cover. The king goes hunting and all the animals flee into the forrest.

This is the wrap-around. I didn't have the text for the back cover, so those random letters are just for placement. In case you were going for your dictionary or something.

These two are spreads. I pushed them together a bit so there wouldn't be vast seas of empty space on here, but all that white is room for text.

bible stories book

This has actually been out for a while now. It's the book of bible stories I worked on last year. I didn't have batteries in my camera, so I finally took these with my phone. The camera in it is pretty terrible, so please excuse the image quality.

Beng Lee Kun book cover

This is a cover I did for the cover of a novel set in China, about a woman who disguises herself as a man to get an education and government position.

Zoomed in background detail.

spring show Illustration1 entries

Pen and Ink partial vignette, about a dream/nightmare or a positive or negative emotion.

Story illustration. I chose the Batak flood myth, where the Naga Padoha who carries the earth on it's horns gets tired of it's burden and drops the world into the sea. The god Batara Guru then sends his daughter Puti Orla Bulan to fix the situation.

"So down she came, riding on a white owl and accompanied by a dog. But she found all the nether world so covered with water that there was no ground for the soles of her feet to rest upon."

Editorial assignment; New Yorker cover.

creature design

I took this class last year, but some people at school have been asking me what we did in it, so I told them I'd put a couple of the assigments up here for them to check out.
